Pulkovo Airport and IBS Joined Efforts to Achieve Technological Independence in the Air Transport Industry

Pulkovo Airport and IBS Group have signed an agreement on strategic partnership in the field of digital transformation. The parties will join their efforts in import substitution and development of domestic ERP solutions.

The agreement was signed within the framework of the II International Forum of Digital Technologies in the field of transport and logistics “Digital Transportation — 2024”.

Pulkovo is a leader of innovations in the aviation industry following the results of the NAIS Award in 2024. In 2023, the airport served 20.4 million passengers, had the second largest passenger traffic in the country and became the only airport with the annual passenger traffic of over 15 million people, exceeding the figures of 2019. The main operator of Pulkovo since 2010 has been Northern Capital Gateway company, which, on the basis of a public-private partnership, manages the airport and its reconstruction and development project.

IBS and Pulkovo plan to cooperate in the following areas:

  • ensuring import substitution and digital sovereignty in the air transport industry;
  • accelerating the implementation of Russian digital solutions;
  • implementing projects of the industry strategy of digital transformation and the adopted plans for digital transformation;
  • building methodologies and approaches to replication of successful import substitution practices, introduction of AI and digital technologies in the air transport industry;
  • ensuring import substitution and digital sovereignty in the air transport industry;
  • improving commercial efficiency and safety of passenger and freight transportation;
  • increasing the flexibility of operational management systems and ensuring the growth of digital culture.

At the same time, the integration project is being implemented in a short time — 1 year, and our partner maintains the set pace and work scope,” noted Olga Korochkina, Chief Financial Officer of Northern Capital Gateway LLC.

The main areas of innovative development of IBS Group in the transport and logistics industry of the Russian Federation are: development of technologies for weight and dimensional control of cargo transport during movement and a system for monitoring the driver’s physical condition, control of speed parameters and routes, monitoring of electronic tags, cargo tracing, end-to-end multimodal logistics system, electronic cargo labeling, door-to-door tracing, a social platform for long-distance trips (interest clubs, client analytics) and other technologies.
